July Birchbox Review

As I had mentioned in my Birchbox post, I am going to review the products I received in my July box.

First product: Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist:

This picture belongs to the Birchbox website.
Check this product out here.

This "mist" does give your hair some nice shine and I like that
it's small enough to carry in your purse for those quick touch ups.
The first problem i have with this: it has an icky orange scent.
It does fade as the product dries in your hair, but it is pretty strong at first.
Second problem: if you spray too much product on your hair, it looks and feels oily.
Perhaps it's the the sprayer that dispenses so much product that contributed to that.

Overall:
This product would be way better if it didn't have that strong scent.
You do have to use a light hand when using this product though.
So, I wouldn't purchase this product. I prefer my Biolage Color Care Shielding Shine Mist
It smells good and the sprayer on this helps you control how much product you want to use.

Second: AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream:

This picture belong to the Birchbox website.
Check this product out here..
I didn't like this lotion at all. The scent just killed it for me. It did absorb well into the skin but I didn't like the velvety finish it left on my hands. So this is a definite no for me.

Third: Zoya Nail Lacquer - Shay

This picture belongs to the Birchbox website.
Check this product out here.
When I first tried this nail polish, I found the formula to be a little thick. After a couple of tries, I got it to look smooth on my nails. It left a nicely glossed finish on my nails even without a top coat. I've never tried a pinky-nude colored polish and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I may consider purchasing the full-size polish once I run out of the sample size.

Last product: Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser

This picture belongs to the Birchbox website.
Check this product out here.
This was the BEST product in the box! I really really liked this cleanser!
To start, I like the consistency of this cleanser: not to runny, not too creamy.
I like that it doesn't lather too much, it's just right. A little bit of this product goes a long way too. So I would suggest getting the bigger bottle because it's cheaper than buying the smaller bottles.
It will last you for a ling time.
I like the scent that it has, a bit herbal perhaps?
The best part is that it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I thought that it wouldn't work on my combination/oily skin but it did. I just feel like it cleans my skin without stripping it from my natural oils.
Overall:
This is a great product, and now I know why so many people are in ♥ with it!
It is a little pricey but I would definitely splurge on skincare products!

I hope you find this review helpful!

1st Birchbox: July BB 1, 2011

Hey guys, so today I want to share the contents of my very first Birchbox.
I will post a link to Birchbox at the bottom of the post as well as a link to
MissGlamourazzi's video explaining how it works :)

This is the pretty little pink packaging!

July Birchbox: Collaboration with Cynthia Rowley.
The sleeve is pretty. I'm not sure what I'll de doing with it yet.

This is what the regular box looks like

This is the card that comes in every box. It tells you what products are in your box and some more info./prices.

These are the products. The KIND Almond & Apricot Fruit&Nut Bar is missing in this picture because I had snacked on it the day before. For the record, wasn't very tasty. I prefer my Cliff Bars to that one any day.

I will be doing a follow-up post to let you guys know how I feel about these products
and I will post swatches of the nail polish too :)

Hope you guys enjoyed this post.
